May Cottage B&B - Bowness-on-Windermere

The breakfasts were delicious! Simon's poached eggs deserve a Michelin star, and the array of local dining spots nearby, like The Brasserie and Jackson's Bistro, made our culinary explorations a real treat. And let's not forget Simon and Joan's warm hospitality.

I have stayed in the queen room with central heating, iron/ironing board and a multi-channel television. It has magnificent and perfect location to see The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

This hotel met requests! Everything was very good, including knowledgeable and affable staff in service or accommodation. The location turned out to be magnificent and good, really close to a fountain of information and a great host, the main shops and restaurants in Bowness, and Bowness and Windermere. It also was close to town centre. Great-sized and well-stocked room with very comfortable beds was enjoyable.

We had a lovely stay! Simon was a proper gem, makin' us right at home and whipin' up the best brekkie, especially them poached eggs! One downside was the brekkie timing, bit late for early risers. But overall, a top-notch experience!

Despite my enthusiasm, my experience quickly soured. The shower in the attic room was annoyingly designed, unacceptable for any guest. And don't even get me started on the breakfast timing, 8:45 is far too late for anyone hoping to hit the trails early. My plans were derailed more than once, a significant inconvenience.

Charming room, good breakfast, comfortably located near various attractions and restaurants, with helpful hosts providing excellent local advice and free parking, making it an ideal spot for exploring the area on foot.

We enjoyed a nice stay, soaking in the cozy atmosphere and exploring the nearby cafes and bars. Simon and Joan's hospitality was great, always cute and ready with local recommendations. Don't miss the opportunity to unwind at the nearby hotel's spa! Ideal for couples seeking relaxation.

The location offers really good access to local attractions and restaurants. The cooked breakfasts were a true highlight, with options like delicious scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Unfortunately, the shower in the attic room was somewhat uncomfortable, limiting the experience, and breakfast timing at 8:45 AM may not suit early risers. Parking can be a bit tight as well.

The room is reasonably spacious and spotless, with comfy beds and a TV.- The location is great and amazing, within walking distance to shops and major attractions.- Very convenient to St Martin's Church.
